Proxy voting for NRIs

The Union Cabinet has cleared a proposal of proxy voting for NRIs.To make the proxy voting into reality the government of India is going to introduce a bill to amend the Representation of People Act.This amendment will permit the Non-Resident Indians to cast their vote in Assembly election and Lok Sabha election.NRIs cannot nominate one proxy for all polls but voters in the  armed forces can nominate their relatives as permanent proxy.Government will frame suitable rules and guidelines to make this more effective.

Maha DBT,Maha VASTU-Two web portals introduced by Government of Maharashtra.

These are the two web portals launched by the Government of Maharashtra aiming to bring more transparency in the construction sector and to streamline the process of Direct Benefit With this initiative Maharashtra became the first state in India to launch a system which provide direct benefit with Aadhaar authentication. MahaDBT:This portal has been designed on the lines of central Government's Direct Benefit Aadhaar will be mandatory to claim benefits through this portal.This will ensure the transparency by reducing human intervention. MahaVASTU:Online building permission management system with an electronic work flow  for sanctioning building approval.

eRaKAM portal by Government of India

E-Rashtriya Kisan Agri Mandi is a web portal for farmers to sell agricultural products in the platform of internet.The initiative is to connect the farmers from small villages to the biggest market through internet.This is a initiative put forwarded by MSTC and CRWC.The farmers will be payed through e-payment into there bank account.

Kishanganga,Ratle projects to be construed by India-World Bank

India is allowed to construct hydroelectric power facilities on the tributaries of Jhelum and Chenab rivers .But there are some restrictions under the 1960 Indus Water Treaty .The two countries disagree over with technical design features of two hydroelectric plant clamming it violates the treaty.The World Bank said that IWT is designates these two rivers as well as the Indus as the western river which Pakistan has restricted use. Indus Water Treaty This is a treaty between India and Pakistan with the help of World Bank which divides the flow of six rivers to these countries.Ravi, Sutlej and Beas for India while Pakistan controls Indus, Chenab and Jhelum.

Hambantota-A billion dollar deal

Sri Lanka has signed a deal of 1.12 billion dollars with China to operate a port in the south east of the country.But this deal was opposed by the trade unions and also have some security concerns.The Magampura Mahinda Rajapaksa Port is a maritime port at Hambantota ,Sri Lanka. According to the deal,Sri Lanka Ports Authority agreed to sell 70% stake of the Hambantota Port to the China Merchants Ports Holdings .There are some concern that the port could be used by the Chineese military.But the government has given the assurances that China will run only commercial operations from the port on the main shipping route between Asia and Europe.Sri Lankan government said that the money from the deal helps to pay the foreign loans . India already stated its concern that China use this port for its military purposes

Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill of 2017 by Arun Jaitley

Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister of India introduced Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill in Lok Sabha.This amendment bill empowers the Reserve Bank of India to resolve stressed assets clogging the banking system. This bill will amendment The Banking Regulation Bill 1949 giving power to the Government to authorise the Reserve Bank of India to issue directions to the banks in order to initiate insolvency resolution in case of a default.These proceedings would be under the insolvency and bankruptcy code,2016 . Under the provisions of the Bill, the  government can also authorise the RBI to issue directions to banks with regard to resolution of stressed assets and allow it to name one or more committees to provide them with advice in order to do so. Uttar Pradesh Solar Policy 2017

To meet the demand of increasing  energy supply of the state ,the state government of UP is committed to use different sources of energy.According to this policy the UP Government proposed to meet the target of generating 10700MW solar power.This project includes 4,300 MW from rooftop solar project by the March of 2022 Objectives :- *To encourage the participation of Private Sector and provide investment opportunities to setup solar power projects in the state UP. *To support in providing environment friendly and affordable power to all. *To promote Research and Development , innovation and skill development in the State. *To achieve its target of 8% Solar Renewable Purchase Obligation by 2022. Under the proposed policy,the government will setup solar parks with a minimum capacity of 100 MW.The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited or the distribution licensee,will offer to purchase 100 % of the power generated through this project.
